Membership Periods and Inactivity

Opt in to membership renewal and inactivity downgrades.

Enable program options

Open Tiers and enable the optional program policy. Existing merchants keep the previous tier behavior until this is enabled. Choose an IANA timezone, such as Asia/Jakarta.

Set a membership period

Choose months or days, not both, for the membership period. Select automatic renewal to continue into the next cycle or purchase renewal to renew on a qualifying purchase after expiry. Zero months and zero days mean no configured membership period.

Calendar-month periods preserve the original cycle anchor and clamp month-end dates, so a January 31 monthly cycle can end on February 28. This is separate from a tier's spend-qualification window.

Set an inactivity policy

Choose an inactivity interval in months or days, whether downgrades repeat, and whether the floor is the lowest tier or no tier. Zero disables the corresponding clock. Inactivity downgrades replace automatic spend-based downgrades while enabled; a new qualifying purchase allows spend-based upgrades to resume. Manually assigned tiers are protected. These options are disabled unless the program policy is enabled. Confirm the effect on customer membership and tier state before changing an established program.

Existing members and benefits

Activation establishes membership state without issuing catch-up benefits for every missed historic period. Membership-period benefits require an enabled policy with a nonzero membership period. Membership expiry governs membership-period benefits; points and previously issued coupons keep their own expiry dates. Turning the master switch off returns tier processing to the existing behavior.
